Black Cat
When I was a kid, I used to love going to the East Islip Public Library and listening to recordings of people like Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone and Christopher Lee reading the poems and prose of Edgar Allan Poe. To this day, the sound of their voices remain clear in my mind's eye. This was the beginning of my love for the sound of the human voice as well as for all things macabre. As my career in radio and advertising blossomed, I always used what extra studio time I had to sit at the mike and just record myself reading great prose and poetry. After all, the human voice was not just created to sell shoes.
It has always been my dream to have the honor of actually reading one of Poe's
short stories for mass consumption. I hope you feel I did his words justice. I know that the incredible music of my colleague Bob Delia most certainly did.
I'd like to dedicate this read to my son Sean.

Bob Delia Comments:
You don't know what a dangerous assignment this really was. Warren, the guy I worked with,
has accidentally killed everyone he has ever met. Thanx for the opportunity to pitch in and help support charities.
P.S. After working on this piece for 4 months, I've decided to give up my musical career and become a bishop in the Roman Catholic Church. But only if I can have the sex, drugs and rock and roll that I was usually afforded in my past line of work.
